Flashback to 2007: Mayor Binay with (from left), Cong. Abby Binay, Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado and Cong. Teddy Boy Locsin raise hands at their proclamation. Photo grabbed from the Makati city website.

Pinoy Gossip Boy was in receipt of a scoop that an endorsement TVC by Makati Representative Teddy Boy Locsin for vice presidential candidate Mar Roxas is being blocked by political opponents.

According to a highly placed sourced, the endorsement TVC has been prevented to air on TV by apparently external forces.

If the source is to be believed, the said TVC was being blocked by vice presidential candidate Jejomar Binay.

What seems to be controversial in the said TVC is the scene where Congressman Locsin hinted on Binay as a corrupt official. Locsin represents a district of Makati in Congress. Binay, on the other hand, is the City Mayor of Makati.

Locsin’s endorsement of an opponent of Binay is controversial in itself.

Certainly, who else knows Binay well enough than someone who works with him for the infrastructure projects of Makati. Who else has the inside information of how much is the cut of the Mayor from road projects.

    Inquirer 4/30/2010

“Newsbreak, in a 2001 report—“The Lord of Makati—Can Binay Explain His Wealth?”—claims that “In less than a decade, Jejomar ‘Jojo’ Binay . . . accumulated at least P80 million worth of real estate properties in Makati and Batangas, which he kept undeclared. The amount excludes P12 million in declared investments, as well as other businesses that he and his friends reportedly control through dummy corporations” (emphasis supplied), presumably so they cannot be traced to him. Like what? Well, a former aide, according to the same report, claims that Binay acquired more than 10 houses and lots in Dasmariñas Village (as of nine years ago).”
